FASHION // Plus-Size Brand Focus and Edit

IMG_1770

As I am always shopping – well browsing really, I thought it would a good idea to pull together my current plus-size fashion picks. Summer is finally here and as usual, I’ve had my beady eye searching all over, so I hope there may be one or two bits that you like.

There’s some really great pieces around at the moment and I’ve also been on the hunt for alternative retailers, so we can mix things up a bit, and maybe introduce you to some new exciting collections.

Last years fashion edit was really popular, so rather than go through the basics again (I’m going to do a basics edit for everyone), I’m just sharing a few pieces that I’m really loving. I’m thinking of making this a regular thing for all sizes so let me know.

H&M

I’m always checking in with H+M plus. They don’t add lines too often, but more often than not I love what’s on offer. Their basics are fab. Particularly the jeans. I have two pairs.

Note: Always size up at least 1 size, if not 2. For some reason they run real small. Best to order both and try on

IMG_1780

Black Satin Maxi Dress. I’m loving the silk fabric and v-neck. At £29.99 it’s a steal as this could easily become a wardrobe staple for years to come. It’s in the basket as we speak.

IMG_1783
Black Bardot Off the Shoulder Top. £9.99. Bargain. Their jersey basics are usually good and this style is bang on trend.

Elvi

If I remember rightly Elvi was around back in the late 90’s. Mum shopped there. But it seems they have had a makeover. I’ve not tried any pieces yet but a few things caught my eye.

IMG_1763

Monochrome Jumpsuit – I love the colour way of this jumpsuit.  The fabric looks good too. Jumpsuits are big everywhere and I think this is a nice piece. On sale at £31.05.

IMG_1762
Olive Green Gypsy Dress – I do love me some gypsy. I’m bohemian at heart. I love the green colour, v neck and fluted sleeve to bring it into current trend. I may have to try this one, it would be fab with a tan strappy sandal. On Sale at £30.87

IMG_1798

Burnt Orange Jumpsuit £32.50

IMG_1764
Gold Jacquard Trouser – Now these are maybe a bit OTT. But I’m loving them. I love the pairing with the cream top. Straight leg and jacquard make them quite classic. They are not cheap at £37.50, but for an alternative to a dress on a special occasion or night out, I’m all over them.

Dorothy Perkins Curve

Launched late last year and to be honest I was not blown away at first. But I check in regularly and there are some nice value pieces amongst some fuddy duddys.

IMG_1769

Cream Floral Shell Top – Love the sweetness of this top. Boho and feminine. My fave colour – cream, it’s a pretty piece for pairing with jeans or coloured chinos. It could be dressed up too with a midi skirt or culottes. Great price on sale at £16.50.

IMG_1770

Cream Flute Sleeve boho Top – You may notice a theme here – boho, cream?! It’s everywhere at the moment and I’m in my element. Love this whole look. £24.00

IMG_1773

Stripe Jersey Maxi Dress You can’t go wrong with a maxi. They still are so easy to wear. There were plenty to choose from but I opted for the Breton stripe. I’ve got a few of these dresses and they are fab. They are easy to wear and so comfortable. Really good value for money on sale at £19.50.

Lane Bryant

An American brand that is now shipping to the UK. I’ve had a browse and there are some nice unique pieces. In particular I’m loving their circle skirts.

IMG_1775

Bright Stripe Circle Skirt – I love this! I love the circle midi skirt and for plus size girls it’s a real flattering fit. I think this colour way and cut is beautiful. It can be dressed up for a formal event or casual for days around town. It’s not cheap at £74.90, but you’re paying because it’s unique.

Gap

A great brand for basics, dresses and sweaters. If Im looking for a quality basic I look to Gap. They are that all American feel. Their jeans and Chinos and skirts are fab too. Up to size 24 is some pieces. Just filter your size.

IMG_1799

Flutter Sleeve Top – I love this top. Feminine and soft in the Tercel fabric. Gorgeous blue. Perfect with jeans, chinos or culottes. £34.95

IMG_1800

White midi Swing Skirt – Lovely classic skirt in White so its perfect for summer. Teamed with a bardot top and heeled sandals for feminine but on trend vibe. It has pockets, so thats always a winner for me. On sale from £23. Available in Blue and Yellow too.

IMG_1801

Girlfriend Chino –  Perfect basic really but with a girlfriend fit in a classic shade. Loads of colours to choose from. I love the classic. On sale at £29.99 and all sizes appear to be there so move fast.

Boden

Boden is a British classic company and have been around for many years. Bloggers love them. They sell high quality, well curated basics and beautiful classics. They occasionally come out with an icon range, prices get high but you really are getting something special. I buy a lot of clothes from them and I’m never disappointed. Their jeans are fab. Up to a size 22.

IMG_1808

Glitter Spot Breton Top – Boden do lovely basics and this is a fancy take on the classic Breton long sleeve T shirt. With a hint of sparkle you add a bit of glitter to your outfit. Perfect with jeans, chinos or a skirt. On Sale at £20.70.

The Mac – Black and White – I bought this and it is amazing!!! I love it. It’s expensive but I can honestly say it’s worth every penny. Get in quick, they are going fast as its on sale £74.90.

IMG_1803

The Skinny Jean – On sale at the moment for a bargain from £19.80 up to £23. Lots of colours to choose from but I love this vintage wash. I have a few pairs and they are a really soft denim with loads of stretch.

IMG_1802

Dolly Dress – Lovely soft feminine jersey dress. Red floral design and relaxed fit. Lovely everyday teamed with flat sandals. Sale from £27.90.

ASOS

Good old ASOS curve. You just have to love it. Order at 10pm. Arrives next morning. Happy days. It can be a bit hit and miss but overall it’s my one stop shop and the first place I look no matter what I’m searching for.

IMG_1761

Chambray Dress – Really cute, on trend in the chambray. Lovely cut. Longer sleeve. Just love it. Good price at £38

IMG_1760

White Bardot Top – another white top?! This is so cute. Bardot, so it’s on trend, crisp white and cut out fabric. Really feminine. £20

New Look

I love New Look. Such a good selection of clothes for plus size and regular. In terms of plus size I love their basic T’s and shoes. Their prices are good and usually the quality is fine for the price point.

IMG_1789

Red Palm Leaf Bardot Top – I LOVE this. The bardot off the shoulder is bang on trend, but Im loving this tropical print. The red and green really pop. An absolute steal at £12.99.

IMG_1790

White Lace Dress – Designer Self Portrait-esque. A beautiful little white dress. I love the neckline and cut out detail. Really a beautiful dress for a special occasion. On the pricey side for New Look at £39.99 but I really think its worth it.

IMG_1791

Tropical Wrap Dress – LOVE this too. Love the kimono feel and the pattern is stunning. Fab for any summer evening out or your holidays. Truly a bargain at £14.99

Marks & Spencer

Good ole’ M&S. They are the backbone of British high street shopping. They have had makeover after makeover, but they never seem to lose it. Their standard range goes generally up to a size 22. But they have their plus range too. I’m not blown away with the plus range. Its a tad mumsy for my liking, but occasionally they have some good pieces, so I do check in.

IMG_1804

Black Round Neck Swing Dress – A lovely basic shape that generally flatters all. Its a good capsule piece and an absolute bargain at £15.

IMG_1805

Brown Leather Two Band Sandal with Insole – I love these sandals. I have a similar pair from Dune that have seen me through 4 summers. They have insolia so they are padded and comfortable. I truly think if you have these you can team with anything in your wardrobe. Not the cheapest at £55, but it is an investment.

River Island

River Island have been a high street leader for years. Only in the new year did they launch the RI Plus range. Sizes 18 – 24.

IMG_1806

Nude Embellished Kimono Dress – I adore this. Its a really beautiful piece that could last you years and could be pulled out of the closet for the festive season too. Not cheap at £75, but if you’re looking for something special, then this could be it.

Thats a wrap folks. Hope you get some inspiration. Let me know what you love. Kiki xox
